Because your passion for orange wine doesn't have to cost you a fortune. Tragolargo Blanco 2019 by garage winery Vinessens / Finca Casa Balaguer, is an orange wine made with a blend of Moscatel and Malvasía, certified organic. This wine comes from the region of Alicante in South-East Spain, where Moscatel grapes thrive.
This is an example of a natural wine that is accessible thanks to its affordable price (around £14) and is fun to share with friends on a summer afternoon, while you teach them all about orange wine. Nothing is added to this wine, nothing is taken away - it says it on the back label.
The appearance of Tragolargo Blanco is cloudy, with a bright amber colour given by the short skin contact of the grapes during maceration. On the nose at first, the juice was a bit shy and did't reveal much. After a little while, it opened up to show many aromas, without being overly complex. I could smell chamomile, apricot, melon, nectarine and also a certain leafiness. Very fruity and also a little floral, even slightly funky. Flavours that equally reveal themselves on the palate, making this a fun, delicious and fantastic value wine.
Definitely one for the summer barbecue (I can guarantee) and a must for the lovers of orange wine! Natural wine that doesn't break the bank and is absolutely delicious - yes please!
Until next wine.
